ONTIME 2016 SUNRISE – NEWS:
Update 8/22/16: Congratulations to our final winners! Extra recognition goes to our two composers who created very successful Facebook campaigns which brought in hundreds of people to listen and vote. It’s exciting for classical music to “go public” in such an exuberant way.
These winners are permanently posted at Ontime 2016 Sunrise Competition:
#1 Public Voting: Frank Sartain, for his orchestral piece “Sunrise”
#2 Public Voting: David Berlin, for his flute solo “Sunrise Monologue”
#3 Public Voting: Charles Higgins, for his orchestral piece “Dawn”
Staff Pick: Bracha Bdil, for her piano solo “Between the Clouds”
All the short list pieces will continue to be available for listening and enjoying. Feel free to invite friends and fans to listen to your piece, even though voting is now completed.
Here are the comments from Public Voting. Thanks to everyone who took the time to give very insightful and helpful feedback to our great composers!
Update 7/26/16: Seven entries have been chosen for the short list. Congratulations to the composers selected and to everyone who entered the competition! All short list winners have been notified by private email. The short list will be posted for public voting as soon as all selected composers have finished updating their profiles. Thanks to all you great composers.
Update 7/20/16 8 PM EST: Time is up! The OnTime 2016 Sunrise contest is now officially closed for any new entries. Congratulations to the composers who submitted a piece, and special thanks for all the great pictures and interesting blogs. What a creative group you all are!
Our staff will select the short list over the next few days, and then public voting will begin. Please invite your friends and families to come listen to all the pieces! We will post a notice when the short list has been selected.
We’re very excited about this contest. OnTime 2016 Sunrise gives composers a chance to have their music included in a new app! Composers who enter the OnTime contests may also qualify for our future affiliate program, which offers a percentage of all app sales.
There are three ways to win in this contest:
Your music may be selected as one of the pieces to be included on a new app. The app selection committee may choose as many or as few as they think would match the high quality of the app, which will showcase classical and jazz music and great composers.
Your music may win first, second or third place in the online Public Voting segment. Today’s composers are learning to promote and share their music by posting invitations to listen and vote on their Facebook or other Social Media. We applaud your efforts to make high-quality classical music and jazz accessible to everyone!
Your music may win the coveted Staff Pick. After all the Public Votes are in, the Staff picks their favorite piece from among those that did not win a prize in Public Voting.
