Harp Lessons in Southern California
I am currently taking new students
My teaching philosophy is simple – music should be joyful. It is important to me that my students not only be interested and engaged in what they’re learning, but that they also develop a lifelong appreciation for music. I teach both lever and pedal harp, and specialize in classical, pop & jazz, and folk music. Students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced, are welcome. I offer private lever and pedal harp lessons in two Southern California locations: Carlsbad (North San Diego County) and Altadena (Los Angeles County).
Performance opportunities for students include annual studio recitals, masterclasses, and community service/volunteer performances. Additionally, students have the option of preparing for Grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Exams. Intermediate and advanced students may also choose to have further instruction in music theory, music history, arranging, composing, and improvisation as well as ensemble and orchestral coaching depending on their interests.
Kate is a Fellow of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music and holds a Masters degree in Harp Performance from the Peabody Conservatory.
