I am composer and music educator Senator Jaiz. I created the “No Permission Needed to Create Workshop”, which I take to schools, special events, conventions, and festivals. This was formerly called the “Ten Minute Music Station.”

I write music with a laid back feel. The genres I touch upon are ambient, new age, trip-hop, classical, cinematic, lounge, IDM, etc.

I have been a musician since 1983 when I started playing in punk bands. After all these years I still realize there is more that I don’t know than that which I do.

I also work as a composer and sound exhibit designer at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. My work there is scoring videos, creating presentations with scores, designing sound and music based exhibits, and performing voice-overs for our media. I have also creating a working relationship with Dr. Roland Kays where I live score his presentations and we are working on a project to turn his movement based data to music.

I am moving towards scoring longer pieces and feature length films. Off to the next…
